I believe a Ruger in general will take more abuse than a Smith when comparable models are put to a torture test. Taurus gets a bad rap from a lot of people, IMO, Taurus is an excellent gun, a lot cheaper then others. I also have a Taurus model 66 in 357 Mag with 3" barrel that is incredibly accurate at 75 yards. According to Colt, the new Python is built out of stronger stainless steel compared to the originals and is available in a 4.25- or 6 inch-barrel model with wood grips.
